Privacy Policy

The data controller is the staff of the WARDOGS Italian Gamer community, reachable at wigfounder@gmail.com or through the official Discord server, reachable from the Discord section of the site.

When you sign in with Twitch, Google or Discord we receive and store exclusively:

— your platform ID and username;
— your profile picture (avatar);
— your subscription status to the community's Twitch channel (required for giveaways);
— your chosen faction, number of visits and date of your last visit (for presence and loyalty features);
— the names of the social profiles you voluntarily link from your profile (YouTube, TikTok, Discord), used only to make sharing easier for you;
— the IP address of your last connection, for security and abuse-prevention purposes: the IP and its approximate location are visible exclusively to the site staff and are never shown publicly or shared with third parties;
— only if you explicitly authorise it from your browser, the device's precise location (GPS/geolocation): used for security and sign-in verification, visible exclusively to staff, and you can revoke consent at any time from your browser settings.

We do not collect passwords, payment data or documents. Donations happen entirely on PayPal, under its own privacy policy.

Data is used to: authenticate you, show your name in the public roster of your chosen faction and in the online users list, verify giveaway eligibility and award loyalty recognitions. The legal basis is the performance of the requested service (art. 6.1.b GDPR).

We use a single technical session cookie, needed to keep you signed in for 30 days, and local browser preferences (theme, language, sidebar state). We do not use profiling cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

Data is kept as long as you keep your account on the site. You can delete your account and all associated data immediately and by yourself from the Data deletion page, or request deletion by writing to wigfounder@gmail.com: in that case removal happens within 7 days.

We protect user data, including sensitive data such as IP addresses and location, through appropriate technical and organisational measures (GDPR art. 32):

— Encryption in transit: all traffic between your device and the site is served exclusively over HTTPS/TLS;
— No stored passwords: sign-in happens only through the official OAuth 2.0 flows of Twitch, Google and Discord; we never see or store your passwords;
— Access control: the admin area requires mandatory authentication plus a restricted key with per-staff-member permissions, and every staff action is recorded in an internal log;
— Restricted access to sensitive data: IP addresses and location (approximate or precise) are visible only to authorised staff, never displayed publicly and never shared with third parties;
— Data minimisation: we only collect the data strictly required for the site's features, listed in section 2;
— Guaranteed deletion: deleting your account from the Data deletion page immediately and permanently removes all associated data.

We do not sell or share data with third parties. The technical providers involved are: the sign-in platforms (Twitch, Google, Discord), the site's hosting provider and Discord (for automatic community notifications, which include only username and public event).

Under the GDPR (arts. 15-22) you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. To exercise them write to wigfounder@gmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).
